NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA-For the fourth time in five weeks, the UMass Dartmouth football team will be on the road as they visit MIT Saturday in a New England Football Conference Boyd Division game. Kickoff is set for 12 noon at Roberts Field at Steinbrenner Stadium.  

The Corsairs enter the game at 1-3 after defeating Plymouth State last Saturday, 23-21. The Engineers are 1-2 after a 31-28 loss to Curry last weekend.

"MIT scares me to death, they're averaging a lot of yards and scoring a lot of points," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Mark Robichaud of the Engineers, who have scored 28 points in two of their three games and 77 overall. "It should be a good football game. We both run a similar style offense, and the ball should be flying all over the place."

The Corsairs scored a season-high 23 points last week against PSU. "Our offense showed some signs of life, and this week we have (senior wide receiver) Brendan McNeish (Springfield, MA/Agawam HS/Bridgton Academy) back, which will be a huge help. We're looking for the offense to hit on all cylinders."

MIT has a few weapons. "Brad Goldsberry lines up as a running back or a wide receiver or in the slot, and he's the leading receiver in the conference and they move him all over the place and do a good job of getting him the football," said Robichaud. "They also have a good running back (Justin Wallace), and their quarterback (Peter Williams) throws the ball well. Defensively, they've played some pretty good teams and given up some yards and points, but they play a lot of people up front and keep their defense fresh all the time."

The Corsairs will have to be sharp defensively. "I have all the confidence in the world in our defense," said Robichaud. "They do bend a little bit, but when push comes to shove, they have done a very good job. Different people play very well in different weeks, so there are a lot of defensive players who are playing well."

Robichaud knows that they must keep pace with the Engineers to be successful. "We have to score points," said Robichaud. "Our offense has to be able to get it going. We have to be able to contain Goldsberry, and if we can do those things, I think we can be successful."

The Corsairs will return home to host Salve Regina next Saturday.
